Tsubasa 3 vs 3 Hibernians Social Football Club

thank you for the great game.

Hibs made history by coming into the game boasting one of the strongest squads ever picked, and also conceding the quickest ever goal in Football. Turns out the old adage, “you only need a second to score” isn’t true at all. You can do it in 0.9s as Tsubasa to score straight from the kickoff. In his defence, James was being a great teammate and was making sure Davey Hunt didn’t have to down a bottle of Jager. (The Hunt vs Social wager, still on next week btw)    0-1 after 0.9s    Hibs struggled a through the first 20 minutes, with our passing being the biggest issue. Just couldn’t seem to find our own man and we’re lucky not to concede even more. The water break came at the perfect time as the fresh legs that came on gave us the jolt of urgency we needed. The Hibs finally created a few good chances for Marcus and Dash, both were well saved by their keeper.    Another attack down the left sees Dash brought down by their defender in the box. Up stepped Gary to put it into the bottom corner. Ok maybe it’s about 5 feet from the corner but it beat the keeper nonetheless.    1-1 halftime   Having gotten back on level terms and having regained the momentum, Hibs then lost concentration and started to give the ball away again. We had James to thank as he pulled off some great saves to keep us in it. Unfortunately, we gave the ball away once again and were punished. Soon after their striker scored a belter from the edge of the box.    1-3 tsubasa    We had 15 minutes left to get something out of the game and started throwing caution to the wind. A through ball sees Dash smash through their keeper. The ball ricocheted back to Hakan who feathered it back towards goal. Don would have gotten our beer orders before it hit the back of the net.    2-3 tsubasa   Hibs thought they scored the equaliser when dash finished at the far post but it was ruled out for a foul off the ball. We thought we had ran out of time. Fortunately, Hakan’s ball towards the left hand post was finished by Seb with the last kick of the game.    3-3 final score   Very rarely would anyone score with the final kick of the game and still feel disappointed with the result. That’s how it felt. Tsubasa started with 10 and were time wasting as early as the 5th minute. Also frustrating was that we were probably playing at about 60% capacity compared to last week.    Regardless, it’s still a point gained and we showed great fighting spirit. There’s more than enough quality to do well in the league. The integration of the new players are ongoing so it’s inevitable that we hit peaks and valleys. Lets keep building! Motm this week is James H for making at least 4 wonder saves to keep us in the game in that crucial period.
