With more than half a dozen regulars being injured or out of country several reserve players had to be called up, especially in defense. The game against the Gaelic Lions thus became a daunting task, but the team delivered. After a ppowerful start with both sides creating opportunities it was Oscar who opened the goal count with a beautiful crross from the edge pf the box which somehow ended up in goal. The Lions kept pressuring our defense, though, and not only got a quick equalizer but also a penalty for handball just a minute later. However, the penalty taker missed the goal and the score remained at 1-1. This was a wake-up call for us to get our act together and Benny and Peter had the right answers by scoring two within a minute to make it 3-1 at the break. The halftime talk foscussed on improving our switch from attack into defense to give the Lions less opportunities in our half. WIthin the first two minutes Benny scored another one for a now comfortable lead and even the Lion's 4-2 (another penalty) was once again answered quickly with a beautful lob from Alp which hit the crossbar but bonced back on his head to be converted. From here there was no way back into the game for the Gealic Lions. Roman whgo had tormented the Lion's defense for most of the game eventually rewarded himself before Peter got his second to make it 7-2. Thanks to The Lions for a fair and sporting match.
