Hibernians Social Football Club 5 vs 0 Hilderinc Twā Football Club

Hibs got back to winning ways, thanks to a hattrick from the returning James Mc and the impressive Alastair pulling the strings behind him. The game was also boasted by ESPZEN, who finally sent us a referee who looked like he knew the game of football and the application of the offside rule. Which was how we scored our first goal. The Alastair-James M combo had almost worked a moment before when James poked his shot wide, but he made no mistake the second time around. VAR confirmed he was onside.  1-0 Hibs We quickly doubled our lead through James again and continued to go close. Hakan, Xander and Ash were pushing froward with purpose and pinning Hilderinc back in their half. Gio and Dash won everything in the air and on the ground and Jake commanded the backline superbly when the ball did go over the midfield. Shak ran around everywhere until even Lam had to yell at him. Halftime 2-0 Hibs Hibs carried on where they left off and got their 3rd goal when Xander broke through and finished low at the far post. James M then got his hattrick when his cross for Dash floated straight into the net. There was time for Alastair to get the goal he deserved before substitutions and a change of formation to the 3-4-3. No better time to try differnt things 5-0 up. Frsutrations started to boil over for Hilderinc and one of their players, who had been itching for a fight all game, decided to spit at Jake after the big man shrugged him off in a shoulder to shoulder. Thankfully, the referee quickly took control of the situation while all the Hilderinc players condemned the actions and apologised. Well done Hilderinc!   Final score 5-0 After a trying few weeks, i felt we've finally rediscovered joy on the pitch. Every player playing up to their level and keeping it that way throughout was very encouraging as was the makeup of the 14. So many worthy MOTM candiates. Giovanni was extremely Italian and did Italian things in the middle while Alawi was deceptively mobile for someone built like a brick sh*thouse. Xander was a threat throughout and got a goal. Alastair had a goal and 2 assists. James had another hattrick and we only need to look at the games against Henosis and Vastavu to understand the difference. However, I've gathered the team vote and we are going to set a (good) precedent this time by going with Jake. Absolutely colossal at the back, played the ball out smartly and delivery from set pieces were on point. Controlled the backline and didnt react to the spitting accident. Very well deserved!

Thanks to the Hib Socials for the game and good luck for the rest of the season.
