The two best teams in the league clashed Thursday night. Vikings got off to a great start with high levels of possession and solid team effort, which gave our Czech locomotive Tomas optimal conditions to shoot on target: 2-0 up in the early game. During the game, Tomas also secured his hat trick, leading to the result 3-1. Exiles could have come back in the second half but strong keeper skills from Des kept the opponents away from making things interesting. The game was physically fought and occasionally both teams forgot about the no sliding tackle rule, showcasing the spirit in which the game was honored. Exiles got off to a weak start and conceded two early goals. With lack of warm up it took us a good 15 minutes to get into the game but after this we actually started playing football. Second half was mostly dominated by us with plenty of opportunities created but only 1 found the back of the net. Apart from some skirmishes and unnecessary pushes at both sides it was a match played in good spirits.
